Dear Sacred Heart School Families,

I am writing to you today to inform you that our principal, Connie Rains, has decided to retire at the end of this school year. Mrs. Rains has been principal of Sacred Heart School for the past 5 years. In that time, she has helped grow and stabilize enrollment, open our new preschool, create a strong link between the school and parish and many other remarkable accomplishments. As a Sacred Heart alumni and active parishioner, Mrs. Rains has been a true blessing to our school community. Please join me in thanking Mrs. Rains for her service to Sacred Heart. We wish many blessings upon her as she enters a new phase of life in retirement.

I understand the uncertainty that a change like this brings to our community. However, I have faith in our Lord, our administrative team, the faculty, staff and you that we can come together to continue our mission. Thank you for your continued trust and support of Sacred Heart School.

Sincerely yours in Christ, Father Manuel Recera, Pastor

Dear Faithful Parishioners,

This is part of the letter I sent to my school families…I’d like to share part of it with you, as well…
It is with a true sadness that I write this letter to all of you who hold a very special place in my heart.  In my over 45 years in the education field, I will honestly say that my last 5 years at Sacred Heart School have been my most joyful and rewarding.  I never knew that coming to a Christ-centered place to work each day would make changes in my own life and show me how good the world can be…  I will miss the hugs and smiles from your children and the kind greetings from all of you, but after much thought, I know this is right and I am ready to start a new chapter in my own life. I know that I will leave you in very capable hands with a dedicated school and parish staff who care about your children greatly.  Father Manny and Mrs. Cheng, our superintendent, will be placing the right person in my place-someone who I know will love your children as much as I do. I will hold these next few months very preciously in my heart knowing that the change will come soon.  As a parishioner and alum, I am hoping to stay at Sacred Heart in some smaller capacity because it is difficult to say goodbye since SHS has been part of me since I attended here.  Please keep the school, my family and me in your prayers and remember you will ALWAYS be very special to me!

Blessings in Christ and Much Love, Mrs. Rains
